Butyl Rubber Sheet is a co-polymer comprising iso-butylene and a minor amount of iso-prene with very low air and gas permeability.
Butyl Rubber Sheet can function in a temperature range of -45° C to + 130° C. It is resistant to ozone, oxidation, and sunlight. It has a low resilience, making it suitable for vibration dampening and shock absorption. It also simultaneously offers abrasion and compression resistance.
Butyl compound is developed to have high tensile strength by meticulous compounding. Most inorganic goods are resistant to it, as are Mineral Acids, Alkaline Acids, and Aqueous Acids.
It is not recommended for use in situations requiring oil and hydrocarbon resistance.
